  • Progressive Mobility Cancer Center Case

    A multidisciplinary team of caregivers reviewed and adopted the Hill-Rom® Progressive Mobility® Program protocol to ambulate mechanically ventilated cancer patients. A three month pre / post quality improvement study was conducted. Hill-Rom TotalCare® ICU beds were used. Clinical and financial results were measured using the Impact Tracker™ Quality Improvement Program. ICU length of stay declined 35% and cost of care by approximately 17%.

  • Progressive Mobility Ventilation Reductions Case

    The Respiratory Therapy Director and team decided to improve patient outcomes by targeting mechanical ventilation duration (days) and ventilator-associated events (VAE). They reviewed and adopted the Progressive Mobility® Program with the help of their Clinical Outcomes Manager, and implemented it using existing Hill-Rom® TotalCare SpO2RT® ICU beds. A three month pre / post quality improvement study was conducted. The Impact Tracker™ Quality Improvement Program was used to measure clinical and financial results. Ventilator days were reduced by 66%, VAE reduced by 14%, and other outcomes also improved. By comparing baseline period to intervention period spend on clinical conditions, the hospital saved up to $540,000.
